Dorastałem w Radlinie, gdzie z okna miałem widok na kopalnię Marcel, koksownię i Szarlotę – jedną z najwyższych hałd w Europie. Postanowiłem spojrzeć na ów znany mi na pamięć pejzaż z innej perspektywy. Podjąłem próbę odkrycia na nowo tego krajobrazowego wyróżnika Śląska, jakim są góry pokopalnianych odpadów. Szukam symboli, kształtów i struktur stanowiących brakujące ogniwo w wizualnej reprezentacji regionu, głównie kojarzonego z industrią. Cykl ten rozpocząłem w 2022 roku w ramach stypendium Marszałka Województwa Śląskiego w dziedzinie kultury.

I grew up in Radlin, where from my window I had a view of the Marcel mine, the coking plant and Szarlota – one of the highest slag heaps in Europe. I decided to look at this landscape I knew by heart from a different perspective. I attempted to rediscover this landscape characteristic of Silesia, which are mountains of post-mining waste. I am looking for symbols, shapes and structures that constitute the missing link in the visual representation of the region, mainly associated with industry. I started this series in 2022 as part of the scholarship of the Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship in the field of culture.
